Overview:
The architect will be responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive health data lake solution that integrates data from a variety of sources, including hospitals and clinics, into a unified platform. The solution will support initial data migration, continuous data delivery, and bi-directional integration with existing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. This role requires managing various data formats, transformation processes, validation rules, and integration methods. A key responsibility will be addressing Master Data Management (MDM) to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and quality across the entire system.
The architect will need to develop cloud-native architectures that are secure, scalable, and highly available, making effective use of cloud services. They must ensure that the solution complies with stringent security, compliance, and audit requirements, as expected in governmental projects. This includes implementing strong security measures and following healthcare data standards to protect sensitive patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in the discovery phase to gather and analyze business requirements, define technical needs, and identify potential challenges. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of project scope and objectives.
- Participate in estimating project timelines and resource requirements, providing accurate assessments to guide planning and decision-making.
- Contribute to the formation and structuring of the project team, defining roles and responsibilities, and ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary skills and resources.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on data integration, master data management, cloud, and security, providing strategic advice and guidance to leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop a secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure on a private cloud, customized to meet both business and technical requirements.
- Design strategies for high availability, disaster recovery, and fault tolerance to ensure system robustness and reliability.
- Create and manage data integration pipelines to handle initial data migrations, incremental updates, and continuous data delivery, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee Master Data Management (MDM) processes to ensure accurate integration and management of data from diverse sources across the data lake.
- Design and implement bi-directional integration solutions with existing Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring seamless data flow and synchronization.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, developers, and analysts, to ensure effective integration with existing systems and address technical challenges.
- Establish and manage comprehensive audit trails and logging mechanisms to support accountability, traceability, and transparency of data operations, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Be ready for business trips 25-50% of your time.
Experience:
- Extensive experience in IT architecture, with a focus on designing and implementing data lake or big data solutions, particularly in the healthcare industry.
- Demonstrated success in designing and implementing complex data integration solutions, managing Master Data Management (MDM) challenges, and handling data from diverse sources.
- Experience in leading projects from the initial discovery phase through to deployment and ongoing maintenance. Skilled in estimating project efforts, resource needs, and managing all stages of project execution.
